"Hawk: Soft Wind Machine" starts off almost nightmarish, a distant bass line grumbles steadily, maracas start to jitter away, the drums begin to slowly prattle to an awakening as the alien moan of the theremin and a mischievous sounding saxophone plots its course. The drums take off and all of these creatures are finally stirring together as one in some sort of twisted and terrible ballet; tones bend unpredictably, the brass blurts, the spacey feedback howls; all the while the drums set a pulsing punk-rock beat and the bass settles into a nice groove. The chant starts blurring by: "Shouldn't-Do-That-Shouldn't-Do-That" as the mood grows tenser at the 10-minute mark (only halfway through this first of two cacophonous declarations), each player grows more overt in their noisy exclamations and the drums just keep on pounding!

Pinkeye is a monstrous amalgamation of various players plucked from numerous LocoGnosis bands, including Wildcatting, The Oscillating Fan Club, Red China, Duende and more, with the intent of taking a cover song and playing the hell out of it.

A splattered kind of noise-rock that recalls the White Light/White Heat era Velvet Underground, with Throbbing Gristle's mayhem, tribal wanderings and a dark wavering mind-smashing. Hypnotic, rampant drum pounds lead the way into "A Love Supreme," setting a thunderous trance, a percussive droning storm with errant cymbal crashes opening up to a wavy bassline; guitars start to strum out a few steady repetitive hooks as the theremin brings its psychedelic whale-song onto the scene. It starts out slightly, make that barely more structured than the first song, but soon whirls into an even more chaotic trounced up dissertation, occasionally winding back for a few brief moments, as if to take a breath before the next cyclone. The band has since added a few other members since this recording and has begun to lean toward more of an afro-beat and tropicalia style, with recent covers of Fela Kuti and Os Mutantes.
